Arbor Tree Services offer a range of tree surgery (arboricultural) services.

The removal of all branches below a predetermined height. This means removing lower branches to increase the clearance between the ground and the crown.

The tree crown is reduced by shortening branches, and so typically changes the overall size and shape of the tree. Reductions are usually carried out around the outer parts of the crown to maintain a balanced shape, unless otherwise stated due to specification. Branches should be cut to appropriate branch ‘junctions’ to maintain good health and vigour.

(Partial reduction may be useful for preventing branches contacting buildings, roofs and guttering)

Reduces the density of the tree’s crown without drastically changing the overall shape and size of the tree. Thinning reduces the amount of foliage and allows more light through the canopy. Thinning takes place initially by removing dead dying diseased and crossing (rubbing) branches, then by removing selected branches increased light and airflow through the tree is attained.

This practice is very useful for letting more light into gardens and windows.

The total removal of tree through either felling or sectional dismantle to ground level.

Although the preservation of the tree is the ideal scenario, sometimes due to ill health or other reasons a tree may have to be removed. Using modern rigging techniques it is possible to remove the largest tree safely in the smallest of gardens.

Please enquire with reference to stumpgrinding as this is something they also offer.

Hedge trimming to create well maintained and compact hedgerow or shrubs. Sometimes hedges such as Leyland Cypress can be left to grow pretty wild, in this instance a hedge reduction may be needed to re-instate the hedge.
